Apparently scientists have confirmed that no man is an island, or at least that populations have always thrived in crowds, suggests Shoshana Wasser in this article for The Varsity’s science section.
The thinking behind my accompanying illustration includes some of the following:
- skill-sharing requires crowds
- crowds = progress
- going to the moon = progress
- progress feels good
- leapfrog (duh) feels good
- it takes a crowd to get a good game of leapfrog going
- therefore, early man kind of leapfrogged to the moon
- also, skulls
